LOVE LETTER REWRITTEN (AN ACT OF FAITH) /////////////////////
This work began in 2023 as a dance studio-based training proposal, dedicated to cultivating observation, focus, presence, and surrender to what is being observed—granting ourselves permission to simply be, and to absorb as much information as possible.
This may include any detail within the space of study: from a small hole in the wall to a body, even a dance.
We ourselves can become the object of observation.
The guiding principle is to allow things to appear—and to welcome them.
This is how the first version of LOVE LETTER came into being, along with the desire to develop a methodology in the spirit of McCullers*.
In 2025, we return to the proposal with a more ritualistic and devotional tone—an organic evolution of the process.
We also created a site-specific version.
One learns to love just as one learns to enjoy the taste of wine, broccoli, or spinach—
just as one learns to appreciate opera, jazz, or contemporary dance:
First, there must be the desire to love.
Then, the willingness to move beyond personal judgment,
while observing with great care and attention.
And perhaps most importantly:
always offer a second, even a third chance.
It is possible to want to love everything.
It is possible to train oneself to love everything.
It is fair to claim such an act of faith.
